Romania captain Nicolae Stanciu says he accepts the setback of a 0-0 draw with Belarus and says the tricolors were unlucky for Israel, who won twice in extra time against Belarus in their previous EURO qualifier -2024.

“It’s hard to accept this draw because we deserved to win without a doubt. We did everything to impose ourselves, but we did not manage to score. I wish we all now realize that qualification is still up to us.

We were unlucky to win in the last minute, as Israel did twice. If we deserve to qualify, we will have to beat Israel and the other teams we have yet to play.

I assume a mistake in the first half, from the first minutes. I take responsibility for not being able to score at this stage. I didn’t hit well…if I scored it was a different game. It was quite difficult to combine in the central area, all their defenders were tall…
