Major changes in the outlook for environmental bonuses and fines in France ! Designed to encourage or, conversely, discourage the purchase of certain models, it takes the form, as the name suggests, of a premium paid for the purchase of a “virtuous” model, or, conversely, a fine for a model considered polluting. The amount is determined based on the level of emissions: €0 for cars that emit less than 123 g CO2 per kilometer and €50,000 for those that emit more than 225 g/km! As for the bonus, only electric ones are entitled: a price reduction of €5,000 or even €7,000 for the most modest households. But here we are talking about the scale of 2023, because in 2024, all this will be profoundly turned upside down…
A new scale that will intensify in 2024
Already for a bonus, from 1Er In January next year, when it is calculated, the ecological point will start to apply. Until now, the state has not distinguished between electric models of local production and those assembled outside the European Union. This is exactly what will change. The state aims to reward producers who make efforts to produce as close as possible to the EUwith production methods and materials which limit the carbon footprint of the production cycle. This new scale will take into account in particular energy used to operate the plant (coal, nuclear, gas, etc.). But also carbon footprint from transportation of the finished carwhat with intermediate production processeswith battery chemistry or even raw is used New restrictions that directly threaten certain models that currently benefit from them.
Which models are affected by Renault?
Another change concerns the fine! From now on, it will no longer be limited to €50,000, but €60,000! Above all, the trigger threshold has been lowered from 123 g/km to 118 g/km. Therefore, many thermal models will be condemned, even the smallest of them. Let’s see which models will be affected by Renault. Gasoline engines 1.0L Sce 65 hpTHE 1.0L TCe 90 hp and 1.0L TCe 100 hp LPG fall below this fateful weight.
The same applies to the diesel unit. 1.5 l DCi 115 hpand hybrid units 1.2L TCe 130 hp AND 1.3L TCe 140 hp. THE Southern, delight, Clio AND Megan affected by this new scale. €50 fine for Austral 1.2 TCe mhev Advanced 130 Evolution AND up to 150 euros for Clio 1.3 TCe 140 Techno or 1.0 TCe 100 Evolution LPG.
