Boulter, ranked 56 in the WTA rankings, led 5-3 in the first set, but Sabalenko fought back, saved eight break points at 5-5 and closed out the match with a strong comeback in the next game.

Katy won the second set with a score of 5-4, but succumbed to the pressure and could not trouble the Belarusian athlete in the tie-break (7-2 for Aryna).

The China Open is held in Beijing from September 30 to October 8 on hard, is part of the WTA 1000 category and has a total prize pool of $8,127,389.
