At the age of 26, Biles performed Yurchenko’s double checker jump, which after approval by the technical committee of the International Gymnastics Federation will be called “Biles II”.

After the trampoline was set up, coach Laurent Lundy approached Biles and asked if she wanted to sit by the mat. The approval of the athlete left no doubt: she wanted this protection, even if it meant that she would have a penalty of 0.5 points in the final score, writes News.ro.

In the end, Simone Biles scored a whopping 15,266, then 14,633, for an average of 14,949.

This is the fifth element in women’s rhythmic gymnastics, first achieved by Simone Biles.
