Romania’s first national football team has moved up one place in the FIFA rankings, with the Edi Iordenescu-coached side currently ranked 47th with 1,448.02 points.

The tricolors drew with Israel (1:1) and won the duel with Kosovo with a score of 2:0 in the qualifying match for Euro 2024.

Romania started 2023 in 52nd place, rising to 46th in April, followed by two consecutive drops in June (47) and July (48).

Switzerland is the highest-ranked opponent in the Euro 2024 qualifying tournament, ranked 14th (-1 place). Israel at 72 (+4), Belarus at 105 (-7), Kosovo at 111 (-2), Andorra at 153 (+1).

The FIFA hierarchy is still dominated by world champions Argentina, followed by world runners-up France and Brazil.

The next FIFA rating will be announced on October 26.
