Simona Halep’s lawyer says CAS appeal will be lodged after Sport Resolutions tribunal formally announces full ruling

The four-year ban was handed down by the independent Sports Resolutions tribunal on September 12. The decision is not final, and Simona can appeal it by contacting TAS within 21 days.

Sports Resolutions found Simona guilty of two counts of two anti-doping rule violations: Roxadustat in the urine sample and several violations in the biological passport.

According to Simona Halep’s lawyer, the ex-WTA leader has not yet appealed to CAS, and this is because she is waiting for the moment when the Sport Resolutions tribunal will officially announce the full decision.

“It’s called an appeal, but I haven’t done it yet. We have 21 days from when the Sport Resolutions Tribunal officially announces the full decision.

By a complete decision, you should not understand that anything other than what appeared in the public space will be communicated, but there are only some administrative elements with which the corresponding decision should be completed.

We are currently also analyzing the court’s motivation. We have to answer all these arguments. Fortunately, we have the opportunity to conduct a full reexamination of the evidence and conduct a new trial on the merits.

However, right now I would say that we are practically overwhelmed by the huge number of comments that appear in the public space.

Extremely disappointed that people who work in the sports industry allow themselves the freedom, the freedom to comment so easily” – Bohdan Stoykain the Euronews intervention quoted by gsp.ro.
