Alon Hazan says draw at National Arena ‘good result for Romania’

Hazan said his players played better than Edi Jordenescu’s men and highlighted the fact that several teams are fighting for top spot in Group I after Switzerland only drew in Kosovo.

“This is a good result for Romania, we played much better. Romania is a very good team, we tried to exploit Romania’s weaknesses and in the second half we succeeded. We had a lot of chances in the second half.

We already knew that Kosovo, Israel and Romania would be fighting for second place, but the Swiss insist on dropping points and the race for the top spot could be wide open. I am more satisfied with the development of the players than with the point.

Sometimes it’s good to win a point and not play that well, but that doesn’t mean you have a future. It is important to have a good evolution. We will play Belarus and hopefully we will be just as strong.

One of our strengths was the 3,000-person gallery. They wanted to see the players fighting for every ball, and I think that’s what happened.” Alon Khazancoach of Israel.
