Cristina Nyagu was fined €4,000 for statements made at the end of the match between CSM Bucharest and Esbjerg
In the previous season, CSM Bucharest lost a home match against Esbjerg in the Champions League, and at the end of the game, Cristina Nyagu made several statements criticizing the refereeing.
The European Handball Federation analyzed the statements of the CSM Bucharest handball player and fined her 4,000 euros.
“It was established that the player demonstrated behavior that violates the fundamental principles of the principle of fair play. Therefore, it was decided that she will be required to pay a fine of 4,000 euros for her comments against the EHF referees.
Half of the fine was suspended with a probationary period of one year, starting from the date of this judgment. An appeal can be submitted to the EGF Court of Appeals within seven days.” – writes KVC in an official press release.
It should be noted that the Romanian athlete avoided international disqualification, but she will be monitored for a year, during which she will have to stop any statements that contain obscene language.
