Simona Halep says she will return to court regardless of how long her suspension lasts

In an interview with Eurosport, Simona Halep spoke about her return to the field, which, according to her, will take place regardless of the length of the suspension.

“I will return to the court because I really like to continue playing tennis and also I have an inner motivation that I think I should fight and be on the court again because this is where I belong and I I think it will stop me when I want it and not in other situations.

I think it will be a difficult moment to leave tennis because all the athletes have talked about it, and I want it to be the way I feel, and it will be.” Simona Halep saidfor Eurosport.

Simona Halep: “I worked for 20 years for a place in the WTA ranking”

Even if she will no longer be part of the WTA hierarchy when she returns, Simona says she is not afraid of anything and is looking forward to taking advantage of her new chance.

“Mentally it means more, emotionally, but the fact that I’m no longer ranked is a big blow. I worked on creating this rating for 20 years, year after year without interruption, with great emotional and mental stress.

I have no regrets because I loved what I did and I never looked at tennis as a sacrifice. I looked at it as a passion, as a pleasure, and I gave it all with great ease.

But it will be something new, it will be something painful, instead the fact that I have a chance, I really believe that I will have a chance to return to the field, it gives me a sense of well-being, and I am not afraid of anything at all.

I’m going to go out there and see what I can do and how good I can be.” – said the former world leader.
