The executive committee of the Romanian Football Federation met on Tuesday to approve several decisions, including the decision regarding the Romanian Super Cup in the coming years.
In the next three years, the Romanian Super Cup will be played on the champion’s field
At the end of the meeting, President Rezvan Burleanu spoke at a press conference about the important change of the Super Bowl, as well as the reasons that led to this decision.
“The champion of Romania previously qualifies for European interclub competitions. We want to support the participation of Romanian teams in European competitions and the Romanian Super Cup is an important trophy for our clubs and we want to make the most of it as an opportunity to celebrate and open the new competitive season.
Therefore, today we decided that the next 3 seasons of the Romanian Super Cup will be organized on the field of the team that wins the Super League. The same rule will apply from the next competitive season in women’s football as well.” – said Rezvan Burleanuaccording to VSP.
The Romanian Super Cup has been held annually since 1993, with Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe winning the last two competitions.
