Manchester City and Rennes have agreed on the transfer of Jeremy Dok

“Manchester City” successfully started the new season and managed to win the only trophy that was not in the club’s showcase – the European Super Cup.

However, Pep Guardiola’s side have lost Ilkay Gundogan, an important player in midfield, but are looking to compensate by bringing in Mateo Kovacic.

In addition, the English champions also completed the transfer of Josko Guardiola from RB Leipzig and paid at least 90 million euros in exchange for him.

But City did not stop there. Despite insisting on Lucas Paqueta from West Ham United, the Citizens were eventually forced to move on, and Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that they have already agreed terms with Rennes over his transfer to Jeremy Dock.

The 21-year-old from Belgium was also watched by Barcelona, but the Catalans could not afford to make an offer equal to that made by Manchester City.

In particular, the quoted source notes that City will pay around 60 million euros in exchange for Doku, and a medical visit is already scheduled for this week.

Jérémy Doku made 14 appearances and scored two goals for the Belgium national football team while studying at Anderlecht’s academy.

He was bought by Rennes in October 2020 for €26 million and has since made 92 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists for the French side.

In fact, he will arrive at the Etihad Stadium instead of Riyad Mahrez, who left for Saudi Arabia.
