After escaping relegation at the end of last season, Lecce made their Serie A debut with a win over Lazio, with Rares Burnete providing an assist on his first-leg debut in Italy.

Rares Burnete, made his Serie A debut with an assist for Lecce

At the age of 19, Romanian striker Rares Burnete dreamed of debuting in the first team of Lecce.

Last year’s top scorer for the U19 national team, with four goals against Roma, Burnete made the step up to the first team this summer.

Coming on for Juan Gonzalez in the 83rd minute with the score 1-0 in favor of Lazio, the Romanian forward provided the decisive assist for Lecce’s winning goal, which Di Francesco scored four minutes later.

Another Romanian, goalkeeper Alexandru Borbei (20 years old), was an unused reserve.

After spending time at Viitorul Constanța, SR Brașov and Colțea Brașov, Rareș Burnete moved to Lecce in 2020 and is valued at €700k.

Dennis Mann, penalty and assist for Parma

Coming on for Parma in their Serie B opener of the new season, Dennis Mann was decisive in a 2-0 win over FeralpiSalo.

The Romanian midfielder first converted Benedicak’s penalty in the 37th minute and scored the winner for the Bernabéu in the 66th minute before being substituted ten minutes later.

In the 71st minute, another Romanian from “Parma” Valentyn Miheile entered the field instead of the author of the first goal.
