The tournament favorite from Cincinnati failed to make it to his seventh final this year.
The Pole started the first set well, leading 4-2, but made as many errors as her opponent, which allowed Gauff to take the set to a tiebreak. There, the American paraded and won with a categorical score of 7-2.
Iga Svyatek recovered in the second set, which he controlled, and Koko Gauff’s two service breaks sent the match into a decider.
In the third set, the former Roland Garros 2022 finalist quickly broke away after three consecutive victories, kept the pace until the end and managed to pull off the surprise of the day, also missing three match points.

In the final, Koko Gauf will meet the winner of the second semi-final, in which the Czech Karolina Mukhova (17 WTA) and the Belarusian Arina Sabalenka (2 WTA) will face each other.
