Work on the Yevhen Popescu arena lasted at least 4 years, given that the authorities initially announced in the summer of 2019 that everything would be ready in about 8 months. Finally, the stadium was inaugurated right during the match, after which Chindia were relegated to League 2, 2-2 with Voluntari FC.

Even if Tyrgovishte no longer has, at least for the time being, a representative in the Super League, another arena, even more “brilliant” than the existing one, is going to “rise” in the city. “This project will be completed in 2-3 years,” said Marcel Gergu, former president of Chindia, on the Liga Digisport show.

Last fall, the president of CJ Dâmbovița, Corneliu Stefan, said that the cost of the project is approximately 310,000,000 lei.
