Forced into the starting line-up despite barely recovering from yet another injury, Kevin De Bruyne lasted just 23 minutes at Turf Moor before being replaced by Mateo Kovacic.

On Tuesday, Pep Guardiola confirmed in a press conference that De Bruyne’s injury is quite serious and that the player is already consulting with team doctors to determine when he will undergo surgery.

According to Pep Guardiola, if it comes to surgery, the Belgium international will be out for about 4 months.

Manchester City are pushing for Brazilian Lucas Paquette

With Kevin De Bruyne sidelined for a while, Manchester City are putting pressure on West Ham United for a Lucas Paqueta transfer.

The Citizens have already tabled a £70m bid for the attacking midfielder but have had it rejected by the UEFA Conference League winners.

Now City is preparing a new offer for him and hopes that the transfer will be implemented as soon as possible.
