After spending all of last season at Inter Milan, Romelu Lukaku clashed with the Serie A side’s supporters when he decided to follow up on an offer from Juventus.

Romelu Lukaku played for Inter from August 2019 to August 2021 and was transferred to Chelsea for €113 million.

The Belgian forward did not fit in at “Stamford Bridge”, but last season was on loan at “Inter”, where he played 37 matches and scored 14 goals.

Inter have been in tough talks with Chelsea this summer to reach a deal to keep Lukaku in Italy for at least one more season, but the Belgian has reportedly refused.

The dispute was hotly debated in the Italian media, and Javier Zanetti, the former Inter great and current vice-president of the team at Meazza, also had a message for Lukaku, whom he called a traitor.

“Lukaku betrayed us! We are very disappointed in him.

We expected completely different behavior from Romelu both as a professional footballer and as a person.” – this is the message of the former captain of the team to Giuseppe Meazza, Gazzetta dello Sport reports.
