Marcel Colacu: “Sports facilities belong to the Romanian state”

Čolaku stated that sports facilities belong to the Romanian state and that certain athletes cannot be banned from using them.

“The sports facilities belong to the Romanian state. Sports bases for sports. We should not interfere, we should not take into account other things and not allow certain athletes to play in these bases that belong to the Romanian state.

Like me, at the moment I am the Prime Minister, and these bases are under the management of certain institutions. Relevant institutions must meet the expectations of athletes.

I understand perfectly well that concerts can be held in stadiums, but when there are no competitions, when there are no requests from athletes, when the lawn before the competition does not deteriorate….

For example, I went to Madrid and together with Sorin Grindianu and the builders visited the future stadium, the current one, but modernized. We have not yet reached the level where 27 floors in the ground are being built for each individual sport: tennis, football, basketball.“, – said Cholakuquoted by News.ro.

Marcel Cholaku: “I did not intervene for FCSB. Stadiums for athletes”

The Prime Minister said that he wanted FCSB to play at the Steaua Stadium not for the sake of the team or patron, but because the stadiums are intended for athletes.

“We have several stadiums that we have to make available to the athletes depending on the results of the athletes, creating a priority. I don’t want to get into any controversy. You cannot express yourself on television based on the Romanian state or in a team paid by the ministry.

I think we should all have common sense and follow logic that leads to results in sports, not debates.

I didn’t because I needed the FCSB team or other teams for the game or for a specific cartridge. We did it based on a simple principle: stadiums for athletes. You have no right to deprive athletes of the right to play in the stadium“, the prime minister also noted.

Marcel Čolaka was also asked if Florin Talpan, CSA Steaua’s lawyer, had exceeded his duties.

“I don’t know the details, so I thought it would be appropriate for the prime minister’s control body to go so that I could practically answer your questions. (…) I think I was quite clear. Mr. Kovaliu, Ms. Lipe can be proud of the medals they have around their necks.

When you do not have sports results and get involved, spoil things for the sake of personal ambitions, I inform you that I will not allow, Mr. Talpan, anyone, as long as I am the prime minister, to do this. Athletes have the right to speak” – Marcel Cholaku.

Also, when asked if he will go to Saturday’s match between FCSB and Dynamo, Cholaku said that he does not know yet and he needs to talk to his son.

FCSB wanted the match against Dynamo to take place at the Steaua stadium, but negotiations with CSA Steaua were unsuccessful.

On Saturday at 21:30 at the “Arcul de Triomphe” stadium, a match between FCSB and “Dynamo” is scheduled, which is included in the second stage of the Super League.
