Novak Djokovic is motivated before Wimbledon-2023: “Seven matches for a new title”

Having already won the Australian Open and Roland Garros, Nohle wants to tick the box for a Grand Slam in 2023 (winning four major tournaments in one year).

The Serbian says he doesn’t care who is on the other side of the net and said he will give everything to achieve his goals.

“I’m sure I’m not the only player who dreams of winning Wimbledon. It’s a tournament with great traditions, and I always feel like I’m here for the first time. These are special emotions, there are feelings that are difficult to describe.

I trained yesterday and today on the center court, it’s still a bit strange because only last year we were allowed to train here before the tournament. We are talking about the most famous arena in the world, stepping on this grass is always fair.

I don’t need Carlos (Alcaraz) or anyone else to find extra effort and motivation when I play Grand Slams because I know I need to win seven matches to get another title.

So whoever is on the other end of the network makes no difference to me. I have to do what I have to do. Most of my focus is on my body, my mind and my game, trying to get them in optimal condition.

I still feel the hunger for success, for as many Grand Slam victories as possible, for new achievements in tennis. I know I can compete at the highest level as long as I have the desire. If I don’t have that anymore, I think I’ll probably have to face different circumstances and have a different approach.

There is still a desire that gives me strength. A few days after winning Roland Garros, I was already thinking about preparations for Wimbledon and what needs to be done. The tennis season is such that it doesn’t give you much time for reflection or enjoyment.

Of course, I enjoyed being with my family, but not for long. A part of me is very, very proud and very excited to be in this position and have 23 Grand Slam wins.” – Novak Djokovicquoted by Eurosport.
