Marco Asensio agreed with PSG – the Spaniard will leave Real without a contract

Christophe Gaultier announced in a press conference ahead of Thursday’s Ligue 1 final that Lionel Messi will not be staying at Paris Saint-Germain and the Ligue 1 champions have already begun preparations for the 2023/24 season.

To replace Lionel Messi’s departure, Fabrizio Romano has announced that the Parisians are in talks with Marco Asensio, the Real Madrid player who has announced he will not renew his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Valued at €25m by Transfermarkt, Asensio has been in the Los Blancos first team since 2016 and has since made 285 appearances, scoring 61 goals and providing 32 assists.

The 27-year-old also received offers from the Premier League, including Aston Villa, but the Ligue 1 winners convinced Asensio with an annual salary of around €10m, double what he was earning at Real Madrid.
