Mirra Andreeva wants to win 25 Grand Slams to overtake Novak Djokovic

After her win against Diana Parry, Andreeva (143 WTA) said in a press conference that she wants to win 25 Grand Slam titles to overtake Novak Djokovic (the Serb currently has 22, tied with Rafael Nadal).

“This is a dream. I know Djokovic has won 22 or 23 Grand Slams, so I want to get to 25 if possible. I do not know. But I’ll just play.

My goal at the moment is to win match after match, win the next match. Then if I win that match, I win the next match again. That’s all. Just win match after match.

Roger Federer, he’s always been my idol, number one for me. But after Roland Garros 2022, when Rafa Nadal won, I don’t know why, but everything changed in my head. Now Rafa and Roger are in first place” – Mirra Andreevaquoted by Sportskeeda.

First memory from Roland Garros: Novak Djokovic singing

“I think since last year when I met Djokovic at the Suzanne Lenglen Arena. He went to the dressing room and sang a song. This is the first memory that comes to mind. He was preparing for the match. I don’t remember who he was playing against, but he was so relaxed” – Mirra Andreeva.
