Jelena Ostapenko (17 WTA) advanced to the second round of the Roland Garros tournament, beating Teresa Martintsova (93 WTA) 6-3, 7-5.

Former 2017 tournament winner Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia advanced to the first round after just two sets.

If the first set was at the discretion of Yelena, then in the second set Martintsova was much more determined and led with a score of 5-1.

In a sensational comeback, Ostapenko won six games in a row and reduced the match to one set.
