Although the Premier League title race has been decided since last week, several teams have been fighting to stay in the top flight. Unfortunately, Leicester, champions of the 2015/2016 season, were relegated.
Leicester and Leeds United were relegated along with Southampton – Tottenham did not receive a place in the European Cups
Manchester City won the Premier League title for the third time in a row, despite Arsenal being in first place for most of the season.
However, Pep Guardiola’s side staged a remarkable comeback at the end of the season to overtake Arteta’s side in second place.
Manchester United and Newcastle qualified for the UEFA Champions League from 3rd and 4th place, while Liverpool and Brighton will play in the next draw of the UEFA Europa League.
After the appointment of Unai Emery, Aston Villa put in an exceptional performance to secure a place in the UEFA Conference League, while Tottenham Hotspur were left out of the European Cup places.
At the bottom of the standings there were fierce battles, even if the name of the first team to fall was already known: Southampton.
