Tamara Zidansek lost to Qinwen Zheng in the first round of Roland Garros

Paris 2021 semifinalist Tamara Zidansek failed to even make it past the first round of this year’s Roland Garros.

The athlete, who climbed to the 110th place in the WTA hierarchy, was defeated by Qinwen Zheng (19 WTA) after a match that ended in one hour and 16 minutes.

The Slovenian categorically lost both sets and put an end to this year’s Roland Garros adventure.

In the second round, Qinwen Zheng will play the winner of the match between Yulia Putintseva (61 WTA) and Maryna Zanevska (88 WTA).

The Roland Garros tournament takes place from May 28 to June 11, has a total prize pool of 49.6 million euros, and is the 127th tournament. Iga Sviatek and Rafael Nadal (14-time winner in Paris) became the champions of the title.
