Qatari Sports Investments, the owners of Paris Saint-Germain, are in advanced talks to take over Sampdoria, who were recently relegated from Serie A, in partnership with Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani.
PSG bosses want to invest in Sampdoria
According to the French media, Radrizzani will receive the majority of the club’s shares, and the Qataris will settle for a minority stake, the Daily Mail writes.
The deal will be similar to the one made last year, which saw Qatari Sports Investments acquire a minority stake in Portuguese team Braga.
PSG’s owners are also discussing the possibility of buying shares in Spanish club Malaga and Brazilian group Santos in an attempt to increase their portfolio.
Meanwhile, Leeds boss Andrea Radrizzani hopes his side can avoid relegation from the Premier League this weekend and plans to sell a controlling stake if they manage to stay in England’s top flight.
With two stages to go in the Serie A season, Sampdoria sit bottom of the standings with just 18 points.
