Sepsi vs CFR Cluj, the final match of the 9th stage of the playoffs, scheduled for Saturday, May 20, at 20:30 at the Sf.Georghe Stadium, will be broadcast live on Digi Sport 1, Orange Sport 1 and Prima. Sports 1.

Sepsi and CFR Cluj meet in an away-only match in the battle for 3rd place, which allows them to enter the Conference League play-offs, while the hosts prepare to face U Cluj in the final of the Romanian Cup.

Sepsi is in 6th and last place with 26 points and has accumulated only five points in the playoffs after a win and a draw with Rapid and a draw with Farul.

The Cristiano Bergodi-coached side are coming off the back of a 0-0 draw with Rapid in Giulești, but Sepsi’s big aim is to win the Romanian Cup like in the previous edition, which will secure them a presence in the Conference League.

The Italian coach, who has been on the Covasne bench since 2021, has no hesitation in extending his deal, which expires at the end of the season: “We have a match against CFR Cluj before the Romanian Cup final and we have to respect the play-offs. We will probably have a discussion after the final. I have been in football for many years and I know that results are important.”

CFR Cluj is in 3rd place with 39 points, two more than Craiova University, the team in 4th place, considering that the distance to the first two places, FCSB and Farul, cannot be restored.

Transylvania remained with the goal of 3rd place, which would allow them to challenge for the Conference League play-offs with the team that wins the play-off qualifier, FC Voluntari or FC U Craiova (4th place only offers this opportunity if U Cluj, a team without a European license will win the final of the Romanian Cup with Sepsi).
