Tori Bowie, a three-time medalist at the 2016 Rio Olympics, died on Wednesday at the age of just 32.

Tori Bowie, a sprinter, died on Wednesday at the age of 32.

The information was confirmed by Icon Management Inc., which represented the interests of the athlete from the United States of America.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tori Bowie. I lost a client, a dear friend, a daughter and a sister. Tori was a champion…a beacon of light that shone so brightly! We are truly heartbroken and our prayers go out to her family and friends.” – says the company’s official press release.

The athlete from the United States won gold at the World Championships in London at a distance of 100 meters with a result of 10.85 seconds, and also took gold in the 4×100 meter relay.

At the last World Championships she competed in (Beijing), she won bronze in the 100m.

Tori Bowie won 3 more Olympic medals in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. She won gold in the 4×100-meter relay, silver in the 100-meter individual race, and bronze in the 200-meter relay. Bowie was also the World Indoor 60m Champion in 2016 (Oregon, USA).

Between 2014 and 2017, the American won 8 stages of the Diamond League, 4 at 100 meters and 4 at 200 meters.
