More than €5.65 billion from Qatar for Manchester United

The offer, which arrived in New York shortly before 10:00 p.m., is a new world record, writes the Daily Mail.

Sheikh opposed the amount offered to the Glazer family, revealing the transfer budget and the amount available to refurbish Old Trafford or build a new stadium, as well as redeveloping United’s training ground.

However, Qatar’s offer is lower than the owners had hoped for, at almost €7 billion.

Jassim Al Thani wants all the shares in the club held by the Glazer family and other shareholders, unlike his rival Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

The British billionaire seeks to acquire a little more than 50% of the shares, while Joel and Avram Glazer will remain with 20%.

After months of talks to sell the club, Manchester United fans are running out of patience and will demand a full stake sale to the Glazer family in Aston Villa on Sunday.

If the deal goes through, it would be the most expensive sale of a club in sports history, after the NFL’s Washington Commanders were sold for around €5.4 billion in early April.
