Men’s volleyball: Olympiacos is the champion of Greece

Olympiacos was crowned in Pylaea, celebrating its 31st volleyball championship, after a convincing 3-0 victory over PAOK in the fourth final of the series.

Alberto Giuliani’s team had an impressive season as they also won the Challenge Cup last month, while PAOK, on the other hand, won the Greek Cup.

The Red-Whites left no room for doubt and made their intentions clear from the start, aiming to end the title challenge before PAOK equalized the series at 2-2.

In the third set, Olympiacos even led by 11 points, with the usual suspect Salvador Hidalgo and his worthy supporter Alec Pagenk in the big day.

Van der Dries and Raptis succumbed to the odds for PAOK winning the applause of fans in a year with many ups and downs.
