The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 117-111 (after overtime) (3-1 overall) and LeBron James set a new NBA playoff game record.
LeBron James, 22 points and 20 rebounds in an NBA playoff game
At 38 years and 115 days, LeBron became the oldest player in NBA history to score at least 20 points (22) and grab 20 rebounds in a playoff game.
The previous record was held by the legendary Wilt Chamberlain, who accomplished a similar feat on May 10, 1973 at the age of 36 years and 262 days.
“Do I sometimes surprise myself? So. When my teammates told me I had 20 points and 20 rebounds, I didn’t even know. This is the first time I have achieved such a result in my career. I’ve done a lot of things in my career, but I’ve never had 20 points and 20 rebounds, so that’s not too bad.” – LeBron James.
