Valencia continued their poor run of form this season and edged closer to relegation after a 2-1 away defeat to Almeria in the 28th round of La Liga.

Being in a direct fight for salvation, “Almeria” opened the scoring in the 49th minute by Melero, and nine minutes later by Babich.

Valencia scored in the 61st minute through Castillejo, not enough to see Ruben Baraja’s side walk away with at least a point.

After 26 years in La Liga, the Bats could return to Segunda at the end of this season.
