Fans in France have good news after a new decree was published in the Official Gazette allowing the use of pyrotechnic materials in stadiums for three years.

The experiment will allow professional sports clubs, in cooperation with fan associations and with the consent of local authorities, to organize pyrotechnic shows “within a well-established and safe framework”, the text says.

The goal is to stop the illegal use of pyrotechnic products in the stands.

Clubs can request from prefects that certain clearly identified fans are authorized to use pyrotechnics in the stadium.

The request must be submitted no later than one month before the sporting event where pyrotechnic items will be used, News.ro reports.
