The University of Cluj prepared a surprise of the beginning of the stage and defeated the leader Farul Constanta (2-0), an unbeaten team of 6 stages in the Super League.

Gicke Hagi’s team, defeat by the University of Cluj – Ardennes have 3 successes in a row

On a pitch full of mud, the team coached by Ioan Ovidiu Sabau won their third match in a row without conceding a goal in the league.

Transylvania could have opened the scoring in the 25th minute, but Ioanni made a superb save from Mamadou Thiam’s penalty kick.

The hosts finally scored 1-0 thanks to Ovidiu Bik (min. 39).

In the first part, Kostyantynivtsi was unrecognizable. Cluj had no fewer than 18 scoring chances.

In the second half, Hyke Hagi’s men missed two good chances to get back into the match through Luis Muntiana and Denis Alibek.

In defense, the “sailors” continued to make mistakes, and Remakl took advantage of Mihai Popescu’s incorrect pass and made the score 2:0 (min. 58).

Thanks to this victory, the University of Cluj rose to 8th place and scored 34 points.

Farul Konstanz are only two points clear of CFR Cluj, and if the Transylvanians win at Sepsi, they will go top.
