According to preliminary estimates, as a result of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, more than 1,900 people died, and almost 7,000 more were injured.

The current coach and patron of the team from Farul Konstanz, Gike Hagi, sent a message to the Turkish people that is hard to find in these moments.

“All my thoughts are about the Turkish people, who are trying very hard right now. I am with you! Be strong!” – Hika Hagi on Facebook.

Together with Galatasaray, Hagi won four league titles and two Turkish Cups, as well as the UEFA Cup and the European Super Cup.

The former captain of the tricolor played for the group from Istanbul in the period 1996-2001.

In addition, Hagi also coached Galatasaray twice: 2003/2004 and 2010/2011.

A powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck central Turkey and northwestern Syria on Monday, killing at least 1,900 people and injuring thousands.

Many buildings collapsed in the snow-covered region as rescuers began searching for survivors trapped under the debris.

An earthquake early this winter morning was followed by another devastating 7.5-magnitude earthquake at midday, according to the relevant European agency.
