While praise for the champions’ coach was limited to FCSB’s first-half performance, Petrescu said the visitors’ victory was deserved and compared them to Slavia Prague, a team that CFR Cluj faced in the Conference League groups this season.

“FKSHB was better in the first half. I thought it was a match with Slavia Prague. And they approached us, attacked us, surprised us with pressing, but we were soft. In the second half, we came in as if with a completely different team, and I didn’t think that we would score, but that we would score. All of us on the bench said that we would score in the end.

Regardless of today’s result, the fight will be to the end. And not between two teams, but five or six. In five, there will surely be a fight to the last stage. There is no point in talking about the teams, you know them too,” Petrescu said at the press conference after the match.
