Chindia Tirgovishte has made a remarkable comeback this season following Anton Petrea’s arrival on the bench, and Meme Stojka believes things would have been different had he been training the team at the start of the season.

After scoring only 3 points in 10 stages, Cindia Tirgovishte parted ways with Adrian Michalcea, and in September 2022 Anton Petrea was appointed as head coach.

Since then, Chindia Tirgovishte have won 8, drawn 5 and lost 5, with the Dambovitsa side currently sitting 8th in the Super League, just 4 points off the play-off spot.

In an interview with Orange Sport, Mihai Stoyka emphasized that the team from Tirgovishte could seriously claim the playoffs if Toni Petrea was the main player from the beginning of the season.

“I think about another thing, I wonder another thing – where was this team if Tony was there from the beginning, did they have a stadium and training facilities?

Because they don’t have that either. I think they did well, they were in the playoffs.” – said the general director of FCSB.
