Both VAR and “human errors”

Both VAR and “human errors”

Refereeing has always been the biggest challenge in all team and individual sports. Technology has come to provide some solutions to minimize “human” – as they called it – mistakes and limit injustice.

Where her contribution has been most decisive is in tennis and volleyball, at least as far as ball and ball are concerned, whether they hit the line or out of line.

In football, there were many objections to the appearance and use of VAR at first, but over time it turned out that the pros outweighed the cons. So it became an integral part of the game.

Its main drawback is that it is not fully automated, which makes it possible to doubt the objectivity of the decisions of the judges managing it.

And since this is Greece and suspicions are our national sport, it cannot be that there are no “shouts” of protest in every game day. Occasionally sometimes.

Because it happens that “suspicious stages” are passed without much analysis, while some others are “checked” to detect violations.

And there have been several such cases over the past few seasons, as a result of which the final segment, in which the football season enters the league and the Cup, looks like … a minefield.
