Novak Djokovic advanced to the third round of the Australian Open after a four-set 6-1, 6-7, 6-2, 6-0 victory over France’s Enzo Quacko, before taking on Bulgaria’s ATP No. 28 Dimitrov.
Djokovic, a dialogue with the referee about the attitude of the audience
In the fourth set, the Serb could not stand the apostrophes of the fan in the front rows and went straight to referee Fergus Murphy, to whom he expressed his displeasure.
“He challenged me all evening. All night! You know and do nothing about it. why seriously? You know who he is, the guy who is so drunk he doesn’t know him anymore.
He challenged me the whole match. I ask you, why are you not doing anything? You’ve heard it 10 times. Why don’t you do something to get him kicked out of the arena?” Djokovic roared at the referee.
Although the fate of the match was largely sealed at that point, the ATP No. 5 rallied and finished the set superbly after physical problems early in the match.
