
PAOK Thessaloniki beat rivals Panathinaikos 2-0 at home in the first leg of the Greek Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday.

The team coached by Rezvan Lucescu opened the scoring in the 52nd minute thanks to Brandon Thomas, who was left alone with the opposition goalkeeper while dribbling and scoring into an empty net.
In the 72nd minute, the score became 2-0 after a deep pass from Nelson Oliveira, which Tyson turned into the net.
At the age of 35, Brazilian Tyson arrived at PAOK just four days ago, having spent some time at Shakhtar Donetsk under Mircea Lucescu.
Also on Wednesday, Olympiakos Piraeus beat Aris 1-0 in Thessaloniki, while AEK Athens beat Panserraikos 3-0.
Rezvan Lucescu won two Greek Cups with PAOK after winning the finals in 2018 and 2019.
