Linda Noskova qualified for the first WTA final of her career on Saturday, with the Czech pulling off a big surprise in the semi-finals in Adelaide, defeating Ons Jabert (world number two and top favorite for the Australian event).

18-year-old Linda Noskova defeats Ons Jaber and enters the WTA Adelaide final

At the age of 18, Noskova won a big combat match with Zhaber. 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 in favor of the athlete from the Czech Republic. The match lasted one hour and 46 minutes.

Linda particularly impressed with an explosive forehand, practiced a solid baseline game and handled Jaber variations well.

She wasn’t overwhelmed by the emotions at the end of the game, although Ons showed some signs of recovery, especially after her return.

Starting with the qualifiers (where she beat Kalinska and Potapova), Linda Noskova defeated Kasatkina, Liu, Azarenka and Zaber all the way to the grand final.

In the grand final, Noskova will meet Aryna Sabalenko (the second favorite, who was beaten by Iryna Begu in the semifinals).

WTA Adelaide 1 is part of the WTA 500 category, it is contested from January 1 to 8 on hard, has a total prize pool of $826,837, and the title champion is Karolina Pliskova (in 2020).
