Belgium’s Royal Antwerp have confirmed that Marc Overmars, the club’s sporting director, suffered a heart attack overnight from Thursday to Friday.
Mark Overmars will soon be released from the hospital
The former Netherlands international, who made 86 appearances and scored 17 goals for the Clockwork Orange, suffered a heart attack on Thursday night and was taken to hospital.
There, the doctors confirmed that the heart attack was of medium intensity and they are going to discharge him soon.
“Meanwhile, Mark is doing better, but he will have to take it easy for a while. “Royal Antwerp FC wishes Mark a speedy recovery.” – says the club’s official press release.
Marc Overmars was key to Daley Blind’s move to Royal Antwerp after the defender was out of contract following his move from Ajax Amsterdam.
In early 2022, Marc Overmars was fired as sporting director of Ajax Amsterdam following a sexual harassment scandal.
