
The world of football has gone into mourning following the death of Fabian O’Neill at the age of 49.
The veteran attacking midfielder from Juventus, Cagliari and Perugia, among others, was hospitalized for several days in the intensive care unit of the Medica Uruguay clinic in Montevideo.
About his health problems associated with alcoholism, it became known 2.5 years ago. The Uruguayan national team player presented with acute cirrhosis of the liver.

Born October 14, 1973 in Paso de los Toros, he arrived in Cagliari in 1995. This was followed by a move to the Bianconeri, where he played from 2000 to 2002, until Perugia and a return to Cagliari.
