Moroccans and Moroccans around the world erupted in a night of celebration after their national football team unexpectedly reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Qatar on Tuesday.

Morocco reached the last eight of the tournament for the first time in its history, knocking out round-of-16 favorites Spain on penalties after 120 minutes without goals.

The qualification of the North African team, the only team from the continent to reach the quarter-finals, was met with wild celebrations both in Morocco and beyond.

After all, this is the first time that any Arab country has gone this far in a World Cup, and even done so in another Arab country.

International networks have recorded footage of fun on the streets of even large European cities such as London, Paris, Brussels, Barcelona and other places where Moroccan immigrants or immigrants from Morocco live.

However, the celebrations were attended by many other citizens of Arab origin, who, identifying themselves with the only Arabic-speaking country remaining at the event, celebrated the unexpected entry of the African team into the final eight. Portugal will be a contender there.
