FCSB is currently being coached from the bench by Mihai Pintilius, who is acting as interim coach of the Romanian runner-up following the resignation of Nicolae Dike. There are two left in the struggle for leadership in the red and blue factions.
Laurenziu Regekampf and Andrii Prepelita, options to become FCSB coach
Nicolae Dike resigned following the 2-1 Super Lig defeat at Cluj and several names have been speculated to take over as FCSB coach since then.
The options of Liviu Chobotariu, Eugen Neagoe and Ilie Poenaru fell one after the other and now, according to Digisport, two names remain on the list to lead the Gigi Bekali-sponsored group.
The last ones on the list were Laurenciu Regekampf and Andrii Prepelita, and the cited source also reports that Mihai Stoyka insists on keeping Mihai Pintilius.
Prepelita is out of contract after being released from FC Argesh, while Regekampf is on the verge of a breakup due to disappointing results with Azerbaijan’s Neftchi Baku.
At the age of 47, Regekampf marked two more mandates on the technical bench of the Bucharest formation, having two championship titles to his credit (2013 and 2014).
On the other hand, Prepelita (36) played for FCSB from 2011-2015, winning three league titles.
