The Romanian Football Federation (FRF) and CFR Cluj have been sanctioned by UEFA following incidents that took place during some Nations League and Conference League matches, the European Football Forum announced on Friday.

The FRF was sanctioned for the incidents at the Romania-Bosnia-Herzegovina match

In this way, the FRF was sanctioned after the incidents at the match between Romania and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which took place on September 26 at the Rapid Giulesti Stadium in Bucharest in the League of Nations, writes Agerpres.

UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Commission imposed a fine on FRF in the amount of 30,000 euros. The Romanian national team will also play its next home match against part of the stadium is closed (at least 2000 seats).

“The partial closure of the stadium is suspended for a trial period of two (2) years, starting from the date of this decision,” UEFA said.

These sanctions were dictated “for throwing objects, lighting fireworks, sending provocative messages of an offensive nature, acts of destruction and incidents caused by spectators.”

The Bosnian Football Federation, in turn, was sanctioned by the forum in Nyon with a fine of €10,000 and a partial stadium closure (at least 2,000 seats) for the next home match. And in this case, the partial closure of the stadium is suspended for a trial period of two years.

The Bosnian FA will not be able to sell tickets to its fans for the next away match in the competition organized by UEFA. The Bosnian FA was sanctioned for “racist behavior by its fans, throwing objects, destruction and incidents caused by spectators”.

Bosnia’s football federation must contact the FRF within 30 days to reach an agreement with its counterpart in Bucharest on compensation for the destruction caused by Bosnian fans, namely 39 broken chairs.

On 26 September, Romania beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-1 in League B Group 3 of the Nations League, but were relegated to League C.

CFR Cluj received sanctions after incidents in a match with Slavia Prague

The CFR Cluj club was sanctioned for the behavior of its fans at the match with the Czech team Slavia Praha, which took place on October 13 at the stadium “Dr. Constantin Redulescu” from Cluj-Napoca in Group G of the European Conference League, reports Agerpres.

The control, ethical and disciplinary commission of UEFA imposed sanctions on CFR Cluj a fine of 10,000 euros. Also, the team from Cluj will play its next home match in the European Cup with part of the stadium is closed (at least 2000 seats).

“The partial closure of the stadium is suspended for a trial period of one (1) year, starting from the date of this decision,” UEFA said.

CFR Cluj was sanctioned for “racist and/or discriminatory behavior of its supporters,” the forum in Nyon said.
