The new AEK Gym in Ano Liozia will be called “Stevan Gelovac” as announced by the Union in its announcement. Thus, the team will honor the memory of the deceased athlete.

Stevan Gelovac died on December 5, 2021 after suffering a stroke on November 14 while training. KAE AEK retired the number “13” jersey a few days later.

A few days later, a year has passed since the death of Stevan Gelovac.

– November 14, 2021, in the gym of our House, in the Olympic Hall of Ano Liosia. The stroke suffered by our athlete shocked not only the “yellow-black” family, but the entire sports community.

– On December 5, 2021, the Laughing Child of our “Queen”, Stevan Jelovac, and after having previously bravely fought the triskatara, became an angel in heaven.

“He flies sick and invisible around here.”

The pain, of course, is inexpressible and lasting.

His ’13’ jersey has been retired and since December 14, 2021 has been installed next to our Holy of Holies, but Stevan is always PRESENT and (WILL) play, (WILL) always fight with us.

The Board of Directors of BC AEK at a meeting on September 7, 2022, as a minimal tribute and memory to the deceased athlete, decided to name – under reconstruction – the gym of our HOUSE, in the premises of Ano Liosion. In a modest ceremony to be held at the Olympic Hall, the gymnasium will be named “GYM STEVAN JELOVAC GYM”.

There will be a newer announcement in the next period about the details of the special – for the “Queen” family – opening.
