When Panathinaikos became the main character, the second game day of the men’s and women’s volleyball championships ended. Both “green” teams came out victorious in the derby matches and showed that this year they will be one of the main heroes of Greek volleyball. The victory of Olympiacos in men with a score of 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 31-29) in the match with Foinikas was also impressive.

The Greek Volleyball Championship takes place only on the second game day, but the games played were the harbingers of a wonderful event. In men, Panathinaikos beat PAOK 3:1 (31:29, 23:25, 25:21, 28:26). Despite the absence of the injured Dimitris Zisis, the Greens avoided fatal mistakes and proved to be the protagonists in the details that played a decisive role in the derby. And PAOK, however, showed that they are a strong team and that this year they will also be among the main characters. Olympiacos defeated the Phoenix team led by Hidalgo more easily than expected. Other results of the 2nd day: Kifisia – OFI 3-0, Pegasos – Milos 0-3, Aristotelis Skidras – Atlos Orestiadas 3-2.

The girls of Panathinaikos in the second championship derby (after losing to PAOK) showed that they would be stellar. They beat Olympiacos 3-0 (25:19, 25:18, 25:15) and won their first league title this year. Other results: ZON – Thira 0-3, Egaleo – Aris 0-3, AEK – Lamia 3-0, Ilisiakos – Markopoulos 2-3, Fetis – PAOK 0-3.
