Rafael Nadal plans to appear at the tournament in Paris and the Tournament of Champions in Turin, or so says the Spaniard’s coach Carlos Moya.

Rafael Nadal will take part in the Paris Masters and the Tournament of Champions

There were many doubts that the 36-year-old, who recently became a father, would play more tournaments this season after he said he aggravated his abdominal muscle injury at the US Open.

He hasn’t even played since, with just one doubles appearance with Roger Federer at the Laver Cup.

But Moya told IB3, the Balearic broadcaster, that Nadal wants to return to the court in Bersa ahead of the Champions Tour, which he has never won in his prestigious career.

“It’s better to go back to Turin with games in hand because the conditions are similar,” Moya said.

Nadal recovered from the injury to win the Australian Open and Roland Garros this year, taking his Grand Slam titles to 22, but he also had additional physical problems that kept him out of action for long periods of time.

The world number two also plans to play in a series of exhibition matches in Latin America during the offseason.
