Panathinaikos and PAOK qualified for “32” Challenge Cups. The Greens with service weapons defeated Spartak Miyawa with a score of 3-1 (25-16, 25-17, 26-28, 25-23) at OAKA and got a ticket to the next stage of the competition. There they will meet with the Czech Overpowered Water.
In front of around 2,000 fans, including the Panathinaikos women’s volleyball team and the Panathinaikos men’s polo team, Dimitris Andreopoulos’ athletes showed from the first minutes of the match that their only goal was to qualify. With little room left for their opponents and with Hernandez in the title role, they won 25-16. In the second set, Panathinaikos won 25-17 and, together with the set, secured qualification.
From that moment on, the match took on a typical character. The Greens relaxed in the 3rd set and gave the opponent an opportunity to win. In the 4th set, Spartak took the lead, but Panathinaikos equalized 23-23 and then took the lead 25-23.
PAOK repeated their wins against Swiss Nafels away with a score of 3:1 (16:25, 15:15, 25:23, 18:25). At the next stage, they will meet with Montana from Bulgaria.
