Lionel Messi named Brazil and France as favorites to win the World Cup. There is a month left before the big event, which will be held for the first time in winter.
“We always talk about the same big teams. But if I have to choose, Brazil and France are the two top contenders to win the World Cup,” Messi told DIRECTV Sports.
“They have had the same group of players for a long time, they work well. France, apart from the last Euro, where they crashed out of the last 16 and performed poorly, have some impressive players. They have clear ideas and the same coach (Didier Deschamps). Brazil is the same team,” added the Argentine ace.
As Messi previously stated, in Qatar he will take part in the World Cup for the last time. Argentina are in the third group and will play Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland.
