First, Olena Rybakina (reigning Wimbledon champion and 26th in the world ranking) announced her loss before her match with GarbiƱe Muguruza.

In just a few hours, Muguruza (two-time Grand Slam winner and 13th ranked WTA) also lost in the first set against China’s Qinwen Zheng (a lucky loser). With a score of 5-0 in favor of the Asian, Harbin retired, citing health problems.

In the 1/8 finals, Qinwen Zheng will meet with the main favorite and the winner of the first place in the rating today, Iga Svyatek.
